Joseph Batten

1982 to 1994

 

     Joe Batten was born and raised in Berlin Township. He and his wife Rita, married since 1957 have raised 3 children and enjoy their 6 grandchildren. Joe retired as Chief of the Berlin Township Police Department after 38 years, 28 as Chief. He is the past President of the Camden County Police Chief’s Association, the South Jersey Police Chief’s Association and the New Jersey Police Chief’s Association. He has also been a member of the Berlin Township Town Council since 1997. Joe has been a member of West Berlin Fire Rescue since 1954 serving in many positions in the department. He also served as Berlin Township Emergency Management Coordinator for 12 years. During Joe’s free time he enjoys traveling and playing golf. 

Mike McGee
Vice Chairman

1997 to present

1983 to 1992

 

     Mike McGee has been a resident of Berlin Township since 1953. He and his wife Regina, married since 1968, have raised 4 children and enjoy their 9 grandchildren. Mike is currently the Director of the Berlin Township Public Works Department. He has held that position since 1977. Mike has been a member of West Berlin Fire Rescue since 1977 and has held the title of Lieutenant and Chief Engineer. He was Firefighter of the Year in 1988, President's Award recipient once and the Chief’s Award twice. Mike also held the position of Berlin Township Emergency Management Coordinator for 10 years. During Mike’s free time he enjoys making wine and fishing.

Kevin Johnson
Treasurer

1996 to present

 

     Kevin Johnson has been a resident of Berlin Township since 1980. He and his wife Cindy, married since 1979, have raised 3 children. Kevin is a partner in the Philadelphia CPA firm Asher & Co., LTD at their Marlton, NJ office. He has been a member of West Berlin Fire Rescue since 1985 and is also the Financial Secretary of the fire department. Kevin is very active with the Boy Scouts of America. During Kevin’s free time he enjoys the outdoors, camping, hiking and canoeing.

Keith Strain
Secretary

 1996 to present

 

     Keith has been a resident of Berlin Township since 1989. He and his wife Leigh, a life long resident of Berlin Township have been married since 1986. They have raised 3 children. Keith has been involved in the printing field since the age of 14. He has been a  Press Instructor for the printing press manufacturer Heidelberg since 1997. He has also been a firefighter since 1980. Keith has worked as a part time Firefighter/EMT for the City of Wildwood Fire Department and joined West Berlin Fire Rescue in 1990 where he has held the title of Lieutenant and Captain. He was the President's Award recipient in 1999. During Keith’s free time he enjoys computers, music, the beach and saltwater fishing.

Galen Giosa
Recording Secretary

2005 to present

 

     Galen Giosa has been a life long resident of Berlin Township. Galen has been a dispatcher for the Camden County Communications Center since 2002. He also works part time for Berlin EMS and Camden City EMS as an Emergency Medical Technician. He has been a member of West Berlin Fire Rescue since 2000. He currently holds the position of Lieutenant. Galen has also held the title of Engineer and was Secretary of the fire department. Galen has been a member of Berlin Emergency Medical Services since 1991. During Galen’s free time he enjoys paintball, fishing and kayaking.
